Philosophy

Singing is an art form and success is a joint effort between singer and teacher. The ability of the singer to study, practice, listen, attend performances, compete, and perform facilitates progress and success.

Expectations

Singing Lessons: for all ages no matter experience level. I primarily teach high school and college students intent on performing careers, but mature middle schoolers are welcome! My students have moved on to Broadway tours, summer stock, TV, and film as well as universities and graduate schools across the country. This aspiration requires a high level of commitment to practicing and preparation. Regardless of aspiration, I focus on technique and musicality.

Coaching Sessions: for Professional singers only. For those already teaching, performing, and singing professionally, consider coaching as a way to maintain your skill sets. I coach from the piano with years of experience accompanying, analyzing diction and performance practice, and helping singers make musical connections with the story and the accompaniment. Opera, art song, and musical theatre are all available.

The following information may be helpful:

You do not need an accompanist.
My home studio is basic with a piano and a mirror.
Sessions may be recorded on a personal device.
Regular commitment not required. Come and go as you please!

Rate

$75 per session. Lessons are 45-60 minutes long. Coaching sessions are 60 minutes.
Payment is not collected with booking, but is due at time of session.
Numerous pay options available.
If there is a need to cancel, thank you for doing so at least 6 hours prior to your session.

Scheduling

Singing and coaching sessions are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
Reservations are taken up to 2 days prior
Time slots are viewable 30 days out
It is possible to have a virtual lesson with me - I teach virtually through Singing Carrots!
